The Life of a Day

The day begins in darkness,
with peace, serenity, and harmony.
As the sleep of an eagle the air is
still, but vibrant.

A gentle moisture presents itself,
perhaps to ade the thirst;
of the birds or the bees,
or, to gently wake them
from their slumber.

A glimmer of hope appears
from the far off trees.
Can the dark spell be suspended?

Alas, a ray of light,
Pierces through the darkness.
Like a victors sword that disables a friend.
Darkness disperses into light,
All living creatures celebrate the victory.

In the light the real battle begins,
That is, the battle of survival
we all must commit.
With thirst quenched,
the prowl for sustenance rules the day,
without which survival is short and bleak.

The day is tiresome,
and finally the light crashes
into a far off hill.

Darkness has its vengeance of light.
And, all the living creatures rejoice.
The bandits search the darkness,
of nature’s excesses.
The day ends in darkness,
with peace, serenity, and harmony.
