The River

The water appears from the sky,
Carried by the wind from the sea,
To an unknown land. What purpose
Has the water on the land? For quenched
Thirst of plants and animals, to wash
Away our yester-years, and promise
Hope for a new tomorrow. The water
Twists its way home, to the sea.

Along this journey, forever downward,
The water divides people from places.
Offering a source of nutrition, a source
Of navigation, and even a source of
Entertainment for humanity to enjoy.
The water ambles so benign and strong
Towards the sea. Meaning harm to
No-one, but do not alter its course; the
Rage of the water may rise up against
Any whom attempt to dwell near its banks.

Upon reaching the sea, the water is free.
Only to be captured again by the wind
And carried to another land, and  must
Begin anew the journey home, to the sea.
